Psalm 103:14 For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth we are dust.

I was just thinking about this very thing this morning while praying. I was considering the words of the Lord, "do not be afraid of men who, after they have killed the body can do no more. But, rather, fear the one who, after he has killed your body has the power to send you to hell." That's WAY paraphrased. But "do not fear" is something that is addressed over and over throughout Scripture. After a while, you realized He is not making a suggestion. He has given his servants a command. "Not one hair upon your heads will be harmed." Yes, we may die here, but we won't have to die twice. So, I've come to decide that fear is disobedience.

And disobdience is sin. Now, more than ever, when I am afraid of what people think (that's embarrassing) or I'm afraid of what the consequences will be from man because I've chosen to actually DO what I've been called to do - well I must repent. And then repent again. Then again. It's wonderful to serve the one true God who doesn't hold my sin against me, but has wiped my slate clean and given me only discipline and consequence to deal with post-disobedience. That's what love and grace and mercy look like! Oh, how great a debtor I am.
